Room Reservation Contact List

Who do I call to reserve a room on campus, to reserve the Alumni House or to reserve the Beard Building?

Prior to ordering catering services,  call the person who schedules the room to confirm it is available (see the list below). Fill out the College Facilities Request Form and send it to scheduling person.  Make sure you get a signed confirmation back.

Room, Table, & Chair Arrangements

What do I do to arrange for tables, chairs, etc.?

In the Special Services/Arrangements section of the College Facilities Request Form indicate the following information:

  • the number of chairs, tables, coat racks, and waste basket needed
  • if you need a piano, blackboard, podium with sound, risers, and any other items

On the College Facilities Request Form draw a diagram of your room set-up.

Call the supervising janitor in charge of setting up your room to confirm your room arrangement.  The Faculty Staff Directory contains a complete list of supervising custodians by building.  In the pdf document search custodians. 

On the day or your event, show-up early to check your room set-up.

How do I arrange for Audio & Visual equipment?

 

Building  
Corey Union & Brown Auditorium, Old Main Fill out the Audio Visual Requests section of the College Facilities Request Form.  Contact Campus Activities at (607) 753-2321 one week prior to your event to confirm your equipment reservation.
All Other Buildings on Campus Fill out the Audio Visual Requests section of the College Facilities Request Form.  Contact Classroom Media Services at (607) 753-4799 to reserve your equipment. One week prior to your event call to confirm your equipment reservation.

Who do I call for flowers?

Flowers

The décor of your venue is important to the overall feel to your conference or meeting.  If it's flowers you require, ASC Catering can take care of the ordering for you.  We have a preferred local florist and can handle all of your floral needs!  We offer competitive pricing on the highest quality arrangements.

Decor

For other décor needs such as wall hangings, open flame candles, music and religious displays please contact Campus Activities at (607) 753-5574 and refer to the College Hand book:
 
440.08 DECORATIONS
Scotch tape, masking tape, thumbtacks, and staples are not permitted to be
adhered to walls and/or windows in any campus facility. All decorations must be
of fireproof materials. Exits must be kept cleared and fire prevention regulations
followed.
A. All publicity, posters, displays, public announcements, etc. must be approved
by the director of Corey Union and conferences. Unauthorized posters will be
removed.
B. All advertisements by commercial businesses or through commercial
businesses must fall within the guidelines of the College’s advertising policy
(Section 481.05).
C. Campus organizations may not advertise social events that indicate drinks
are free, sold at reduced prices, or otherwise appear to encourage unlimited or
excessive drinking.

Campus Smoking Policy

Where are the designated smoking areas on-campus

The State University of New York College at Cortland is a tobacco-free campus. Use of tobacco products  is strictly prohibited in all campus buildings including the Outdoor Education Center at Raquette Lake, on the grounds, and in all motorized fleet vehicles.
